Job description

St Fidelis is a high performing school in the London Borough of Bexley. The school employs specialist teachers for music and PE who work alongside our class teachers to ensure every child receives a broad and balanced curriculum.

You will work alongside a year group leader in our two-form entry school to plan, teach and access children's academic development so that every child makes progress.

You will be articulate and positive, able to work in an atmosphere characterised by our mission of compassion, challenge and excellence.

Essential qualifications

Degree
Qualified Teacher Status
Clear understanding of the National Curriculum and its application
Clear understanding of the EYFS guidance
Awareness of the Professional Standards for Teachers

Essential skills and experience

Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written forms
Ability to speak with confidence and accuracy, using accurate
sentence structures and vocabulary
Ability to choose the right kind of vocabulary for the situation in
hand without a great deal of hesitation
Ability to listen to customer and understand their needs
Ability to tailor your approach to each conversation to be
appropriate to the customer, responding clearly with fine shades
of meaning, even in complex situations
Ability to teach challenging, well organised lessons and
sequences of lessons across the age and ability range specified
Ability to manage learners' behaviour constructively, using a range
of behaviour management techniques and strategies
Ability to use a range of assessment techniques to enable all
children to make the fullest progress possible
Ability to use their skills in literacy, numeracy and ICT to support
their teaching
