Class Teacher job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated class teacher to join our innovative and exciting bilingual school starting in September 2022.

We would welcome applications from teachers with mainstream experience and qualified Teachers of the Deaf with the mandatory qualification or Newly Qualified Teachers who have the following:

Excellent teaching & classroom management skills
High expectation of Deaf pupils’ achievement
Good sign language skills (minimum BSL Level 3)
Experience of curriculum management
Secure knowledge of safeguarding procedures

We are committed to developing our sign bilingual practice and have high expectations of both pupils and staff. We employ deaf and hearing people in partnership to raise the achievement and outcomes of Deaf children.

Frank Barnes is an innovative and exciting sign bilingual school for profoundly Deaf Children with a national and international reputation as a centre of excellence in Deaf Education. In 2015, the school moved to a state of the art building at King’s Cross and is co-located with a mainstream primary school.
