Class Teacher, Full or Part Time job summary

Due to increased pupil numbers and changes in circumstances of current staff, we are able to offer a fantastic opportunity to join the KS2 team at St Mary's Banbury, where you will make professional connections that will last, as well as work in a compassionate, exciting, creative and diverse school. Set in the heart of this historic, beautiful and diverse market town, we are the oldest school in town and serve a population from the local area and further afield.

As a member of an ODST school, you will have outstanding professional development opportunities, including opportunities to develop your subject and professional interests. Our teachers plan in teams, sharing the workload and having joint PPA whenever possible. Our wellbeing is a priority and this is a team that looks after each other and has fun together just as much as it is committed to great outcomes for the children.

Driven by our Vision to 'Learn, Transform and Grow', our curriculum is carefully organised to develop children's language and reading skills and ensure that mathematical development has an equally high priority. Foundation subjects are taught creatively, with children engaging in a high level of educational and cultural visits, events and activities and enabling learning to be a lived experience which they love to share with each other, their families and our community.

Specialist sport and music provision is further enhanced with Commando Joe's character education and our playtimes are the best! St Mary's is the proud holder of an 2 OPAL Platinum Awards for play, making our playtimes irresistible and some of the best anywhere! Our well established breakfast and after school clubs, provide support for working families as well as many children who love to stay and enjoy even more time in school. The children know they are loved and cared for with compassion and our wonderful support team help them and all our teachers to meet the needs of all, so that everyone is included to take a full and active part in school life.

We work with our sister school, Wroxton Primary School, in an Executive partnership which gives exciting opportunities to work with colleagues in a much smaller, rural location five minutes away and to further enhance and grow our professional network and skills.

Supported by a deeply committed school leadership team, active local Governors and ODST this is an opportunity for ambitious, positive and exciting teachers to make a difference in the lives of a wide range of children.

To find out more about our very special school, please look at our website and you are warmly invited to come and meet us and have a look around our school in person.

We welcome applications for full time or part time working. Please indicate in your application which you are interested in and what proportion if part time.

To arrange a visit, or virtual meeting, please contact the school office on 01295263026 or email office@banburystmarysschool.co.uk
