The Role
Nun Monkton Foundation Primary school are looking to appoint a full-time teacher for our small village primary school initially for one year. The successful candidate will teach in one of our three classes, Nursery/Reception/Year 1, Year 2/3/4 or Y5/6. This will allow the right candidate to be matched with the right age range for them. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is beginning their career, or someone more experienced who is looking for a new challenge. ECTs are welcome to apply.
About Us
We currently have 43 children on role, split into three classes. At Nun Monkton, we want children to look forward to every day. We aim to provide them with the skills and opportunities to make them inquisitive learners who believe in themselves. We believe that all children should be nurtured and safe, and that our school provides a unique and ideal place to learn and grow.
About You
The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, passionate, nurturing and dedicated to providing the very best opportunities for our pupils. We are looking for someone who consistently delivers high standards of teaching and learning and who is keen to work as part of a small, close working team. It is vital that the successful candidate has the ability to communicate effectively with pupils, staff, parents and the wider community, forming and maintaining meaningful relationships. Experience of teaching mixed age classes is desirable, but not essential, as is the experience of Forest School and teaching and learning in the outdoors.
You will:
Have a track record of delivering good/outstanding outcomes for children
Lead planning activities and deliver inspirational lessons based upon sound curriculum knowledge
Identify and address gaps in children’s learning
Understand the impact of the learning environment upon children and staff
Monitor children’s progress, assess their achievement, record results and make accurate observations
Have a ‘can do’ mentality with a desire to overcome any challenges that arise
Be a team-player with good communication and inter-personal skills
Have good organisational and time management skills
Embrace change and be willing to be flexible
Be committed to professional development and have high expectations of your own practice
