‘Come and join our friendly, inclusive and rapidly developing school’

Here at Gladstone Road Primary school we provide a friendly and inspirational education setting for our staff and children. As a four form primary school you join the largest primary team (in the area) who will support and challenge you in your practice.

Set in the heart of Scarborough, we are very much an extension of local families and communities and we pride ourselves on being able to offer more than just ‘schooling’. Being part of #teamgladstone means you will be part of a forward thinking, evolving, individual school.

We welcomed our experienced Headteacher in January 2020 and over the last 2 years we have overhauled our curriculum, leadership structure, provision, and learning environments.

All key areas of school improvement are being tackled, and we have a committed, talented and cohesive staff, delightful children and strong and supportive Governors – all of us united to build a school we can all be proud of.

Our Opportunity

We now have an opportunity for an experienced KS2 class teacher to join our teaching colleagues, who are all supported and challenged in their teaching practice and career aspirations. You will be on your way within the profession as an excellent classroom practitioner, and also be able to demonstrate subject leadership expertise as the role will involve responsibility for a key subject area. We would love the opportunity to see you thrive and develop your career here at Gladstone Road.

As the largest primary school across the area we have numerous opportunities for you to develop your subject leadership skills. With tailored support from our Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, Assistant Heads and other skilled colleagues, we will further develop you and give you the skills, encouragement and experience within the profession you are looking for.

We are looking for:
• A track record of raising both pupil attainment and standards of teaching and learning in your phase
• A strong vision and ethos that supports our values and culture.
• A professional who has an engaging and dynamic style of teaching which fosters independence and resilience and inspires children to follow their interests and ambitions.
• Someone who has the drive and ambition to make sure our children achieve their very best, and has a proven record of raising standards for all children
• A teacher with a flair and passion for primary education who will embrace working and teaching within our ‘family’ – and bring new ideas and practices to engage both the children and the staff.

We can offer you:
• A school with a renewed focus who puts pastoral and nurture provision at its heart and an aspirational outlook for our children
• Happy, enthusiastic children who are thriving and have a thirst for learning
• Clear and tailored CPD for all staff which involves our ongoing involvement with the Chartered College of Teaching coastal Hub and access to professional qualifications through the Opportunity Area.

Join us and build a wonderful career in a school you are passionate about. Please contact Helen on the details below.

We are proud to work alongside our fellow primary and secondary schools and we believe we have a unique opportunity for colleagues to grow, develop and thrive in their career as part of our coastal community.
