Class Teacher job summary

Grove Park is a successful and vibrant special school on the East Sussex and Kent borders. We are seeking to appoint hardworking and enthusiastic practitioners, to join our school. In addition to a full time post, there is potentially a job share position. Experience of working with pupils who present with a range of special educational needs including autism is desirable, but we welcome applications from teachers who have a specific interest and passion in the field of SEN.
Candidates should have:
• A commitment to and possible experience of, raising achievement in a special school setting
• The ability to demonstrate outstanding practice differentiating plans, writing Individual Education Plans, liaising with supporting agencies and implementing additional support programs to meet pupils’ specific needs.
• Relevant training and/or willingness to train and gain experience relating to working with pupils with autism and communication disorders including different forms of Alternative Augmentative Communication strategies (AAC), PECS and TEACCH training.
• Skills in managing a team of support staff or are keen to develop those skills.
