  • Knowledge of Read Write Inc phonics
  • Knowledge of effective teaching and learning strategies
  • Professional understanding of inclusion and strategies for engaging all learners
  • A good understanding of how children learn
  • Ability to adapt teaching to meet pupils’ needs
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with pupils
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills (including written and oral skills)
  • Effective organisational skills
  • Knowledge of guidance and requirements around safeguarding children
  • Knowledge and understanding of assessment to support progress
  • Knowledge or interest in curriculum areas
  • Knowledge and use of effective behaviour management strategies
  • Good ICT skills, particularly using ICT to support learning
  • Ability to work well with a range of audiences, including parents/carers and other professionals

The Headteacher and Governors are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic teacher to join our highly committed team. This will be a temporary contract up to August 2024, but there may be a possibility of the contract becoming permanent. The successful candidate should have experience of teaching within a First School/Primary.
