What the school offers its staff
he Board of Governors of Hope School are looking to recruit to a part time classroom teacher. This is a tremendous opportunity for either a specialist or main stream teacher with a proven record in school for supporting children with behaviour that can be challenging. Hope School is a special school for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties (SEMH). Pupils range from aged 5 - 11 years. Hope School is unique because of its non-exclusion policy and the fact that we will never exclude a child from school. Hope School has adopted strong attachment and trauma-informed practices (ATP) as the basis for working with its pupils, alongside links to the HEARTs project and research-based support. The school has built a formidable reputation and is recognised as being a Centre of Excellence both locally and nationally and the aim is for this team to follow on from this and continue to grow. Pupils tell us they enjoy coming to school. We offer a creative based curriculum which meets the holistic needs of individual students. We know that our pupils work best when they are challenged in their learning and the curriculum is based around this.
We work closely with parents and carers of children in the school, each are given the opportunity to access training on attachment and trauma. Hope School successfully maintained being an outstanding school on 2nd April 2019. Our latest Ofsted report can be found at on our school website:http://www.hopeschool-liverpool.co.uk/ofsted-informationStaff welfare is of high importance, staff are offered supervision by an external provider monthly in addition to a leadership team who have open dialogue around mental health of all. Additional CPD for staff also underpins this ethos whether it is CBT, yoga or mindfulness to name a few.
Commitment to safeguarding
Hope School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the pupils and expects all staff to share this commitment.
