Class teacher job summary

Our experienced Head teacher and his supportive governing body are looking to recruit an aspirational and energetic class teacher to teach in our outstanding school. This will initially be for a Year 4 class in the Summer term. We welcome applications from experienced teachers, as well as ECTs, and we can accommodate flexibility with start dates - April, May or September - for the right candidate. For those looking to start their ECT career in September, we are also able to offer a start date before July, once trainees have finished their university studies, enabling pay over the summer holidays. For ECTS, we offer strong support – an experienced mentor whom you will meet weekly during dedicated release time; an excellent training programme using materials from the ECF; regular observations of experienced colleagues, including visits to other schools.

Ightham Primary School is a happy and friendly village primary school with an active school community and extremely supportive parents. We are a one form entry primary school with a supportive, dedicated and experienced teaching team. We create bespoke career pathways for every member of staff, identifying and growing talent, with outstanding professional development opportunities at every stage of your career. We also have an Employee Assistance Programme with a range of resources to support wellbeing which is available to all employees and their immediate family members 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

  • Excellent CPD opportunities, including outstanding ECT development and middle leadership training.
  • Annual conferences with keynote speakers.
  • Access to professional coaching.
