Class Teacher (KS2) job summary

The Role

The post holder will have a responsibility for the education of pupils for whom they are timetabled to teach and are also responsible for including the planning, preparation and assessment of work.

The duties outlined within this job description are in addition to those covered by the Astrea and National Teacher standards latest Academy Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document. 

Duties Include (but not limited too):
Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge all pupils
Promote good progress and outcomes by all pupils
Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge
Plan lessons (in line with minimum expectations) and teach well-structured lessons
Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all pupils
Make accurate and productive use of assessment
Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment
Fulfil wider professional responsibilities

 

Required Skills/Experience

We are looking for candidates who can display the following skills and experience:

Successful teaching experience or evidence of successful completion of initial teacher training
Successful classroom experience in a primary setting
Knowledge of the national curriculum development
Understand and values the processes of planning monitoring and evaluation as an aid to raising standards.

Castle Academy is located in Conisbrough within Doncaster in the county of South Yorkshire, close to Barnsley and Rotherham. We currently have 7 classes of children across the school with children aged between 4 and 11 years.
