Thomas Coram is a successful and popular Church of England voluntary aided junior school situated on a spacious and well-maintained green-field site in the market town of Berkhamsted in south-west Hertfordshire. The town has easy access to London, the Chilterns, Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire.
We are a warm, welcoming school with approximately 340 children of all abilities. We are blessed with talented staff, dedicated governors, supportive parents and – most importantly – amazing children!
As a Church of England school, we have strong links with the local community and welcome children and staff from all faiths or no faith. Our core Christian values are respect, responsibility and friendship. These values firmly underpin all that we do as we work together to live out our vision of building a family that is 'flourishing in learning and love.’
Castle Church of England Federation was established in April 2018 and brings together Victoria CE Infant and Nursery School and The Thomas Coram CE School. Each school retains their own unique identity but share the same vision. We have a very strong executive leadership team consisting of an Executive Headteacher and two Heads of School, supported by an engaged and talented federation governing body.
Castle Federation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All posts are subject to rigorous pre-employment checks including an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check as well as other pre-appointment checks outlined in Keeping Children Safe in Education.
