Class Teacher (Mat Leave Cover) job summary
We are looking for a Class Teacher to join our friendly, committed and hardworking team at this successful, highly regarded primary school to cover maternity leave for 11 hours a week on a Thursday and Friday. ECT and Main Pay Scale teachers are welcome to apply. This post will be for one year from 13/03/2026 for up to one year, unless the postholder returns early.
As a school we are mindful of wellbeing and have introduced the following to support worklife balance of staff.
- staff meetings are only 1 hour and other CPD is creatively planned into the school working-day through Team Meetings and a supportive coaching model
- a wellbeing day for staff who demonstrate commitment to supporting school related activities such as discos and PTA events
- regular release for subject leaders to support their subject leadership
- PPA at home
- shared team planning within a 3-form entry primary
- an SLT which is supportive and are streamlining systems and processes to reduce unnecessary paperwork and workload.
- Exploration of how technology can support workload
We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic and excellent classroom practitioner, who has a proven record of improving the quality of education within a school.
This school is a member of Peterborough Diocese Education Trust (PDET) https://www.pdet.org.uk/ and has a new Senior Leadership Team.
