Class Teacher - Maternity cover job summary
We are looking for an exceptional teacher with a heart for working with children with special educational needs, and ideally SEN teaching experience, to join our teaching team as maternity cover.
The Governing Body are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic teacher with a real passion for teaching pupils with SEND. The ideal candidate will have experience of teaching pupils with autism and PDA. The position will commence after Easter in April 2022.
We are looking for a teacher who:
- is keen to develop and share their experience and knowledge of teaching pupils on the autistic spectrum
- is excited about delivering an inspiring curriculum to primary age pupils with ASD
- is creative, flexible and an adaptive thinker
- is an excellent team player with a positive attitude and a sense of humour
- has experience of leading a class staff team
- has a holistic approach to developing our children in all aspects of their education
- is willing to contribute to whole school development

Closing date midday Wednesday 19th January 2022. Interviews will be held Thursday 27th January 2022. In addition to an interview, shortlisted candidates will be observed teaching a lesson.

Brooklands is a split site, primary phase (2-11 years) special school. On one site we have 83 FTE pupils with severe and complex learning difficulties including autism. On our second site we have 60 pupils with ASD / CSCN and this site will grow to 70 pupils. This position will be based at our CSCN site in a KS2 class.
