Class Teacher (Maternity Cover) job summary

We are looking to appoint a skilled, committed, enthusiastic and inspirational Class Teacher to join our vibrant, successful & supportive team.

Job Role: Class Teacher

Location: Gurney Pease Academy

Contract Type: Temporary – Maternity Cover

Hours: Full Time

Term Time plus one week (47 weeks per year)

Salary: M1 - M6

Cover required from September 2026. 

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, committed person who will help us deliver a high-quality learning environment for our pupils. The successful applicant will be highly motivated and committed to ensuring the active participation, learning and achievement of all pupils.

Visits to the school are encouraged. Please contact the People Team to confirm your visit. 

Available dates for school visits: Tuesday 2nd June, 4pm or Thursday 4th June, 2pm. 

Closing date: Friday 5th June, 5pm. 

Interview date: Friday 12th June - Time TBC
