What skills and experience we're looking for
We have an exciting opportunity for a class teacher to join our happy team in February 2025. As a Year 2 Maternity Cover Teacher, you will be responsible for a foundation subject (to be agreed depending on your expertise) in addition to your class teaching duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that promote a love of learning and intellectual curiosity
- Ensure that teaching responds to the strengths and needs of all pupils, using effective differentiation strategies and adaptations.
- Make accurate and productive use of assessment, providing regular feedback to support pupil progress
- Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment
- Contribute to the wider life and ethos of the school, developing positive professional relationships
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Excellent subject knowledge and a clear understanding of the primary curriculum
- Experience teaching in Key Stage 1 or lower Key Stage 2, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality lessons
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to create a positive, inclusive classroom environment
- A commitment to continuous professional development and a desire to grow as a practitioner

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
