Experience and skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the Primary Curriculum.
- A clear understanding of what constitutes high quality learning and effective curriculum provision.
- An ability to plan the curriculum to match the needs of the children in the class and a thorough understanding of assessment for learning.
- A strong interest and ability in ICT and its opportunities for learning.
- Evidence of high standards of pupil progress and outcomes.
- Effective behaviour management skills.
- Ability to implement a range of teaching strategies.
- Good understanding of what keeps children safe.

- An ability to be a role model, upholding morale and having high expectations of self and others.
- An understanding of the need for equality of opportunity within a changing community.
Relationships
- An ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with children and adults both inside and outside school.
