Class Teacher (Primary) job summary

Are you an inspirational Primary Teacher who is passionate about enhancing the provision for children and young people with special educational needs? The Academy has a primary focus for children and young people who have Autistic/Asperger’s Spectrum Disorder.

About the role and you:
We wish to recruit someone who is committed to providing a welcoming, stimulating learning experience for all pupils, what we are really looking for is someone that is passionate about working with special needs pupils and someone who is willing to contribute to the broader academy life.

To be successful you will be a creative, enthusiastic individual dedicated to ensuring that pupils’ needs are met, providing them with a positive learning journey and helping them to achieve their aspirations. You will need to have experience of adapting lessons to make them accessible to all pupils but appropriately challenging.

About us:
Medeshamstede Academy is a special academy in Peterborough for pupils with autism. The age range is from 4-16 years with a wide range of ability. All pupils have autism and some have SEMH and other complex needs.
We are looking for someone who can show enthusiasm and commitment to leading and developing our academy within their areas of direct responsibility.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Teacher who wishes to work in a unique environment. Medeshamstede Academy opened in 2012 as a new, purpose-built provision within Greenwood Academies Trust. All pupils have an Education, Health and Care plan with autism as their main presenting need.
