St. Peter’s is a caring and nurturing 140 place village school in Ardingly built on our mission statement “Hand in Hand we journey together, guided by God.” Our shared school vision is captured by Achieve-Believe-Create. Our aim is to ensure that our pupils are given the opportunity to: Achieve and do the very best they can; Believe in our Christian Ethos and themselves as unique individuals; and Create a fantastic future by embracing the opportunities that St. Peter’s provides. St. Peter’s currently has four classes organised as mixed age and mixed ability across the school. Our NOR is currently 98. The population that our school serves extends beyond the historical immediate rural community of Ardingly. Currently 75% of pupils attending are from within our catchment area with 19% from the Lindfield/ Haywards Heath area. As a Voluntary Controlled Church school, proud of our Christian Ethos, there are strong links with St. Peter’s Parish Church. A member of the church visits weekly to lead collective worship and special services such as Harvest, Christmas, Easter and the end of year service in July are held at the church and led by the children. St. Peter’s has a strong reputation for PE and sport and is an active member of Mid-Sussex Active Sports Partnership, which has further widened participation and the opportunities, including clubs and competitions, offered to all of our children. In July 2019 the school was officially awarded the Platinum School Games Mark after achieving gold for five years in succession.
