Set in idyllic locations in rural Berkshire, Chaddleworth St. Andrew’s & Shefford Church of England (VC) Federated Primary Schools have been established in a hard federation since 2006.
At our school it is our aim to provide a caring and welcoming school environment based on our Christian Values of Courage, Compassion, Trust, Friendship, Wisdom and Endurance that safeguards and promotes the wellbeing of all. We aim to provide the highest quality education that develops resilient, independent and curious learners who are prepared for their future and the world around them.
The school, based on the Shefford site, has a warm, friendly atmosphere with a strong team spirit. We have a fabulous family of children who are friendly, caring young people and we are very proud of our active PTFA and links with the local community. The Chaddleworth site is used for focussed learning and activities such as drama workshops, music and dance.
As a federation of two Church schools at the heart of the community, we work in partnership with parents and the wider community to fulfil our commitment to enable all pupils to achieve their full potential. We do this through developing a love of learning within a creative environment.
While the school has below the national average number of pupils, the number on role has increased significantly over recent years.
Our exceptionally dedicated and hard-working staff and governors contribute to the school community and exemplify 'Living Life in all is Fullness' in their commitment to providing the best possible education while nurturing the moral and spiritual values that come from being a church school. We have exceptional support from the local minister who visits the school to conduct collective worship and who works with staff and governors in support of our aspirations and our wellbeing.
Whilst based on the Shefford site, we have a further three classrooms at Chaddleworth which we use creatively for a variety of activities such as drama workshops, music lessons and SATs revision. Our excellent outdoor learning facilities for all classes at Shefford include a dedicated Early Years/KS1 outdoor provision; Forest School area; outdoor classroom; extensive playing fields in addition to the ‘hard’ play areas and an excellent adventure playground.
