What skills and experience we're looking for

  • Qualified teacher status
  • Degree
  • Successful primary teaching experience (or placement experience for an ECT)
  • Effective classroom practitioner
  • Understanding of the primary curriculum and assessment procedures
  • Understanding of how children learn
  • Ability to inspire, engage and motivate all children
  • Knowledge and understanding of effective teaching and learning practices
  • Planning to meet the needs of individuals, including those with SEND, EAL and more able learners
  • Ability to plan for a creative, skills based curriculum at all levels (long, medium and short term)
  • Experience of working effectively with support staff
  • Effective classroom organisation and behaviour management
  • Understand how to raise standards through the use of assessment, tracking of pupil progress
  • Recognise the importance of children needing to make day-today, week-to-week progress in their learning and to ensure good levels of achievement across the academic year.
