A Catholic school is distinctive because of the living faith and its practice that unites
all those present regardless of their own faith outlook or cultural background. It is a
living partnership between governors, parents and staff who are solely committed to
the very people for whom the school exists – the children.
Our school has a prime location in Eastwood having the advantage of two hard play
areas with additional playtime apparatus, two playing fields and extensive
landscaped grounds. The children are actively involved in maintaining their pleasant
environment through classroom and extra-curricular activities.
Currently there are 208 pupils at The Priory Catholic Voluntary Academy,
accommodated in seven classrooms a well-equipped library and Assembly/P.E. hall.
We also have a room which is used for our after-school provision.
Key Stage One comprises 3 classrooms incorporating cloakrooms and newly
refurbished toilet areas. There are also areas with wet play facilities.
WHY CHOOSE THE PRIORY CATHOLIC VOLUNTARY
ACADEMY AS A PLACE TO TEACH?
Jesus said, “I am the vine and you are the branches”
The Priory; a place to learn:
have fun, grow and develop,
in the light and love of Christ.
The Key Stage Two block comprises of four classrooms, with two shared arts and
crafts preparation areas, together with cloakrooms and toilets. Whole school
assemblies and liturgies are held in the hall, to which parents and friends are invited.
The school underwent a successful Ofsted in November 2019 and was awarded
‘Good’ during the Canonical Inspection in February 2020.
We are a small primary school with an excellent reputation within the local
community. We are seeking to appoint an excellent and inspiring classroom
Teaching Assistant, who thinks children are wonderful, has high expectations and
standards; and who finds a primary school an exciting place to work.
We are currently a ‘good’ school with ‘outstanding’ elements and are continually
striving to become the best school we can possibly be. We are also a very friendly
school with a great team ethos, both working with children and each other. We
continually strive for high standards in school, but still have time for fun and
enjoyment.
We offer ongoing professional development, wonderful pupils, a hardworking and
supportive team and an active and interested PTA, Parish Community and
Governing Body.
Being a Catholic academy, the governors will appoint on behalf of the academy trust,
a candidate who is able to contribute to the ethos of the academy and who is willing
to sign the Catholic Education Service Contract. This does not necessarily mean that
a practicing Catholic will be appointed, as applications from people of other faiths
are equally welcome.
Thank you for showing an interest in this post. For more information about the
school, please investigate our school website or contact school for further
information or to arrange a visit.
In the meantime, the governors await your application with interest.
Yours sincerely
Anthony Harrison
