  • Experience of teaching in Key Stage 2
  • Experience of working with children with SEN
  • Proven record of raising standards for all pupils, including underachieving pupils
  • Experience of effectively using data, assessment and target setting to raise standards
  • A proven track record of driving and sustaining school improvement
  • Experience of effective leadership of a curriculum area
  • Experience of planning for and delivering inclusive learning opportunities and provision

Knowledge and Understanding

  • Clear understanding of current safeguarding legislation and a commitment to implementing these in school

  • Has knowledge and understanding of monitoring, assessment, recording and reporting of pupils’ progress
  • Ability to make use of appropriate data/information to analyse the performance of pupils and set targets
  • Clear understanding of how children learn and awareness of effective teaching strategies for personalised learning
  • Ability to implement and lead whole school initiatives and support colleagues to raise standards
