Experience
- Experience of teaching in Key Stage 2
- Experience of working with children with SEN
- Proven record of raising standards for all pupils, including underachieving pupils
- Experience of effectively using data, assessment and target setting to raise standards
- A proven track record of driving and sustaining school improvement
- Experience of effective leadership of a curriculum area
- Experience of planning for and delivering inclusive learning opportunities and provision
Desirable
Experience of supporting vulnerable families
Experience of teaching across all key stages

Knowledge and Understanding
- Clear understanding of current safeguarding legislation and a commitment to implementing these in school
- Understand statutory requirements of legislation concerning Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, SEND and Child Protection
- Strong working knowledge of National Curriculum
- Has knowledge and understanding of monitoring, assessment, recording and reporting of pupils’ progress
- Ability to make use of appropriate data/information to analyse the performance of pupils and set targets
- Clear understanding of how children learn and awareness of effective teaching strategies for personalised learning
- Ability to implement and lead whole school initiatives and support colleagues to raise standards
