Class Teacher with responsibility for Literacy job summary
Calthorpe Academy is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative teacher who will take responsibility of Literacy within our Learning for life Pathway (SLD). You will teach core and creative subjects in an adaptable framework that compliments each pupil’s stage of learning.
We are looking for someone with commitment and enthusiasm for literacy who will promote a love of reading by students and improve students’ literacy skills to support their educational progress in all subjects. The role is to build on the work that has taken place in the past couple of years to promote literacy; as well as lead and manage the effective whole school strategy, to improve literacy throughout the school. We are seeking someone with creative ideas, who can embed literacy in our curriculum offer. It is expected that you will be an outstanding English practioner yourself with an interest in leading across all Key Stages.
All staff are trained in Behaviour management and augmentative communication techniques. Special educational needs experience is desirable for this position.
