Qualification and Experience
- Qualified teacher status
- Degree in Primary Education
- Successful primary teaching experience
- Knowledge of the National Curriculum
- Knowledge of effective teaching and learning strategies
- A good understanding of how children learn
- Ability to adapt teaching to meet all pupils’ needs
- A good understanding of how to meet the needs of children with SEND within the classroom
- Evidence of excellent behaviour management based on positive relationships
- Knowledge of guidance and requirements around safeguarding children
- Knowledge of effective behaviour management strategies
- Good ICT skills, particularly using ICT to support learning
Personal Qualities
- A commitment to getting the best outcomes for all pupils and promoting the ethos and values of the school
- High expectations for children’s attainment and progress
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively

What the school offers its staff
The Learning for Life Partnership along with the Principal at Wheelock Primary School wish to appoint a motivated, committed and highly effective teacher to initially join our hard working and enthusiastic team.
This post will be a Year 5/6 position initially. The successful candidate is expected to be well organised and flexible with high expectations of attainment, achievement and behaviour and have a drive to make a difference to the education of all pupils. They will have excellent communication skills and evidence of continued professional development.
The school and the partnership are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people/vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced disclosure from the DBS.
We
