What the school offers its staff

The Alton School is an ambitious, vibrant and supportive place to work. We are a one form entry, inclusive primary school with fantastic grounds next to the wonderful Richmond Park. We are also home to a small resource base for children with autism and associated learning difficulties. We are a Rights Respecting School.

Ofsted say:

  • Pupils come to school happily.
  • Leaders and staff support every pupil to reach their full potential.
  • Pupils achieve well in a range of subjects.
  • Staff benefit from regular training to develop their expertise.

Teachers benefit from a supportive, developmental environment with plenty of opportunities for career growth. We have a well developed, outstanding curriculum with a full set of units and lesson plans. Lessons are reviewed during joint planning sessions to ensure all teachers feel well prepared and well supported. We have strong systems in place to help ALL children achieve. We have a committed staff team, supportive parents and carers, and most importantly, truly incredible children!

The Alton School is part of Quality First Education (Q1E), a successful Multi-Academy Trust with four primary schools on five sites across south London. This is an exciting time for us and we want the best people to join us as we grow further.

Further details about the role

Please read our Q1E Teacher Pack for more details of the role, our school and our trust.

We recruit every year for new teachers to join us in September. Recruitment is ongoing until positions are filled. We encourage an early response, as applications are reviewed as they come in.

We have a single application form for our trust, so you can apply to more than one of our schools at the same time. We have four schools across south London - you can read about them in our Q1E Teacher Pack or on our website at www.q1e.org.uk.

To apply, please email your completed application and equal opportunities forms to recruitment@q1e.org.uk. We do not accept CVs. All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS with barred list check and we may carry out online searches.

Commitment to safeguarding

The Alton is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
All successful applicants will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check. Following recommendations from Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) for an additional pre employment check with effect 1 Sept 22, please note, an online search may form part of this recruitment process.
