Scale C 4 (£13.05 per hour)

Temporary role

28.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 3.15 pm - Term time only

Hemblington Primary School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Classroom Assistant.

Do you have a passion for supporting children to achieve their full potential? We are looking for a dedicated and caring Classroom Assistant to join our friendly team.

In this role, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support with their learning and social development. You will help them to access the curriculum, develop independence, and build confidence in a safe, nurturing environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing support in class, following guidance from the class teacher and SENDCo

  • Assisting with individualised learning activities and differentiated tasks

  • Supporting social and emotional wellbeing

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and independence skills

  • Working collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Preferably has experience of working with Lower Key Stage 2 children (ideally in a school or SEND setting)

  • Is patient, empathetic, and committed to inclusive education

  • Can build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families

  • Is flexible, proactive, and able to work as part of a team.
