What skills and experience we're looking for
Due to an unexpected change of personal circumstances, a rare and exciting opportunity has arisen at Oakfield Primary Academy for a hardworking, conscientious upper key stage 2 class teacher.
Oakfield Primary Academy is an incredibly supportive school, with the staff and pupils at the centre of all it does! Every teacher is entitled to the best possible CPD. No teacher is ever left to plan alone. Reducing teacher workload and improving teacher well-being is a priority. Governance arrangements fully support the development of teachers, enabling them to concentrate on teaching and learning.
A high priority is placed on developing the deeper learning of basic skills, whilst at the same time developing a broad and balanced curriculum of foundation subjects. We want our children to fulfil their academic ability but to also be good human beings when they leave us. There are excellent opportunities for future career development across our schools with many staff who have started as support staff and are now in senior leadership positions.
What we expect from teachers in our schools:
- The skill to keep the child at the centre of everything they do.
- An ability to see the best in every child.
- Hard-working, loyal, professional teachers that actually want to teach!
- To work as a team and be proud of collective as well as individual achievements.
- A high standard of English and maths knowledge.
- A passion for another area of the curriculum.
We have been judged with a solid good in Ofsted; this is the type of school you could be joining:
- A strong sense of community fills this inclusive school
- Staff have high expectations of the pupils and expect them to work hard
- Adults are strong role models
- Staff are proud to work here and pupils love to learn here
- Leaders and staff have worked incredibly hard to improve the school since its last inspection
- ‘There is a real team feeling – we are Team Purple.’
- Teachers know their pupils well
- Pupils feel that they will leave school remembering motivational teachers and visitors, that diversity is celebrated, and that they have been treated as individuals: ‘It’s OK to be me!’

Oakfield Primary Academy is situated on the borders of Dartford and Bexley, serving Dartford and Wilmington.
Judged by Ofsted in 2014 as a GOOD school, we are working hard to provide the best possible experiences for all children.
We are a large school with three forms of entry, and with a nursery on site too, we have capacity for 758 children. A new build has very recently been completed in order to give us a brand new hall and extra five classrooms.
We are part of The Galaxy Trust which is the successful partnership between Oakfield Primary Academy, Temple Hill Primary Academy and West Hill Primary Academy.
All three schools are supportive, friendly schools where children, parents and staff thrive.
