Classroom Teacher and Digital Learning Lead job summary
This is a fantastic prospect for an enthusiastic, positive, and competent professional who is willing to work with us to improve the life chances of our pupils and benefit from opportunities for high-quality training and development.
About The Leadership:
As part of our school's vision for preparing pupils to thrive in today's world, we believe complimentary technology should be used throughout a range of subjects, ensuring children become confident and adaptable when using a range of applications, whilst at the same time learning how to be vigilant against the inherent risks of the digital world.
To enhance this part of our vision, we are looking to appoint a teacher and leader with a passion for digital learning and a proven track record of leading school initiatives. The successful candidate will work with school leaders to drive the use of technology (we use iPads across our school) to enhance pupils’ learning across the curriculum. The application of our technology will compliment our experiential approach to learning as well as enhancing some of the more traditional learning methods, thus and making the curriculum more accessible to every pupil.
Although our pupils are used to using iPads in their learning, we believe that they have much more potential and would appoint a digital leader to champion that change.
To support the leadership, we will offer:
- A supportive leadership team who support these aims and will share the responsibility of the whole school development
- Dedicated weekly management time to drive the project, support staff and monitor its impact
- A school with fantastic digital infrastructure, digital resources and a rolling reinvestment plan to maintain the high quality
- Technical support from the Primary First Trust's experts in digital learning
Experience of using Apple classroom, showbie or similar classroom teaching apps may be an advantage, however we are looking for the right person primarily. That is: someone who shares our school's vision and can plan a route to make it a reality; someone committed to preparing our pupils to thrive in life; someone who is keen to learn and grow as part of this journey.
If you are interested in the role, please make an appointment to visit us and meet with Mr Clayton to find out more about our ambitious plan.
About The Teaching:
We are looking for an inclusive practitioner who is passionate about making a difference. This is someone who proactive and well-organised, with high expectations and a commitment to achieving the best outcomes for our pupils. You should be an excellent communicator and team player, and you will be able to give our pupils the skills and experiences to enable them to be confident, independent, and active learners as they continue their journey towards a full, successful, and happy life.
You will be able to:
- Show a detailed knowledge of the development and progression of subject(s) taught and keep up to date with developments in pedagogy for the subject(s) taught.
- Set appropriate and demanding targets for pupils' learning and motivation, identifying clear teaching objectives, content, structure and sequences to ensure all pupils can reach their potential in the subject taught and in literacy, numeracy and ICT.
- Use teaching methods that keep pupils engaged, including stimulating curiosity, effective questioning and response, clear presentation, and good use of resources.
- Secure high standards of pupil behaviour through well-focused teaching, establishing appropriate rules which pupils respect, and dealing with inappropriate behaviour in line with the behaviour policy.
- Build supportive relationships with parents.
If you are a teacher, who can make learning fun, engaging and memorable, while being reflective and continually seeks to improve your practice, we would love to hear from you.
