Classroom Teacher job summary

Nestled in the heart of Exeter, Ladysmith Junior School boasts glorious, expansive grounds that offer a perfect backdrop for learning, exploration, and hands on learning. Our school is a thriving, inclusive community where children are encouraged to be enthusiastic, curious learners every single day.

We are currently seeking new team members who are ready to bring energy, commitment, and creativity to our school. Whether you are an experienced educator or early in your teaching journey, we are looking for individuals who are eager to make a real difference—people who value strong relationships, inspire children through high-quality teaching, and contribute positively to our collaborative culture.

We have a variety of exciting opportunities available. Please indicate your preferred working pattern in your application, as we have both full time and part time positions available. In return, we offer a supportive and forward-thinking environment where professional development is actively encouraged and wellbeing is prioritised. We have a highly committed, welcoming team of staff who are passionate about providing the best possible education and care for our pupils.

If you believe in nurturing potential, value continuous improvement, and want to be part of a school that genuinely puts children at the heart of everything it does, we’d love to hear from you.

Come and be a part of something special at Ladysmith Junior School.

We are looking for a rigorous and relentless practitioner to bring learning to life for our pupils. You will be determined and skilful in challenging each pupil, whatever their starting point, using your strong pedagogical practice and philosophy, so that every pupil can truly flourish. The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from across the school and the hub is essential.

This is an exciting role; in joining us, you will be part of a friendly and welcoming staff team and a supportive community. You will develop your teaching and leadership skills in a Trust that has a strong focus on CPD.

When completing an application please ensure you address all aspects of the person specification, listing any additional subject strengths and providing details of how you have gone above and beyond for the children within your care.

If you would like to arrange a tour of our school, please contact Emma Harris, Trainee People Advisor on 01392 349140 or via email to people@stcmat.org.

Your completed application form should be submitted by 9am on Monday 19th May. Interviews will be held on Wednesday 21st May.

Please note it is our process to apply for references for shortlisted applicants and to complete online searches in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
