  • Self-reflection on the effectiveness of lessons and approaches to teaching.
  • A working knowledge of the KS3 National Curriculum for Science and accreditation suitable to the needs of our students.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of high quality inclusive teaching, including maintenance of all subject curriculum related documentation, including student progress, attainment and accreditation.

You will be an enthusiastic professional, with the ability to work with energy and vision to take the Science provision at St. George’s School forward. With the necessary experience and demonstrable passion for your curriculum area, you will possess the ability to lead teams of staff to support their class groups in a consistent manner.

You will work with students at St George’s School with medical and behavioural challenges. St George’s is embedding a trauma informed approach to teaching and learning and all staff receive appropriate training to embrace this approach. You may also be required to support individuals requiring medical support and will therefore be required to undertake/update specialist training as necessary.

You will develop your practice to effectively meet the needs of our students, supporting them to progress in line with individual’s expectations, or exceed them with additional support. You will develop positive working relationships, sharing good practice across school, and take a lead in identifying areas for your own professional development through your reflective practice.
