We are looking for an inspirational teacher who:-

  • Is a passionate classroom practitioner with an established track record of high expectations and aspiration for all children's achievements.

  • Has previous experience of working with a diverse range of learning needs including excellent provision for children with additional needs.
  • Has a good working knowledge of formative assessment practice and other assessment strategies.
  • Has excellent expertise in creating a stimulating and appropriate environment that motivates learners.

The post provides:-

  • High levels of mentoring and support for newly qualified teachers and those in the early stages of their career.
  • Opportunities to develop pedagogy and leadership skills by working closely with colleagues and school leaders on the continuing growth and development of the school, by cross-phase working with the secondary school and by partnership working with other local schools.
  • A commitment to professional development and scope for career progression as the school grows and as new roles emerge.
  • A pleasant working environment with high quality resources and well planned provision, working within a supportive and collaborative team; a state of the art gym available for staff use and a five minute walk to a direct rail link to London Marylebone (40 minutes).

There are a wide range of staff benefits that are available to all members of staff employed directly by The Aylesbury Vale Academy. Some of the benefits include:-

  • Priority admissions for children of staff in our Primary and Secondary phases.
  • Staff receive 10% discount off all wrap around care in the Primary phase.

  • Disaggregated INSET days with elements dedicated to professional development time in departments.
  • Access to the Employee Assistance Programme, a support service for all staff as well as partners and dependent children. Experienced, professional advisors are available to speak to you confidentially 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
  • Access to a well-equipped Academy gym.
  • All teaching staff have access to the Teachers' Pension Scheme, whilst other staff have access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.
  • Wellbeing Wednesdays where all staff receive free pastries and fruit.
  • Gift vouchers given to celebrate life events such as on the birth/adoption of a child, or a wedding.
  • Contribution to eye tests and glasses.

The post is suitable for newly qualified teachers, those in the early stages of their career or for candidates with more experience. If you are a creative and reflective practitioner with high expectations for children's achievement, if you believe in working together to make a real difference for the next generation, if you are looking for a new challenge and want to be part of something special, then we would love to meet you and find out more about you.
