Duties and responsibilities of the Class Teacher:
The duties and responsibilities of the Class Teacher are those which are detailed in the DfE ‘School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document 2016.’
Ethos
* Support the aims and ethos of a Catholic school.
* Support colleagues in their management of student behaviour by using school policy and procedure.
* Assist in the promotion of the image of the school throughout the parish and wider community.
Duties and responsibilities of the Subject Leader:-
Subject(s)Area of Responsibility:
* Liaison with the Headteacher, Senior Management team and colleagues.
* Knowledge of the School Improvement Plan and awareness of the stage of development of your subject.
* Annual review of development and Action Plan for the academic year.
* Production of Long and Medium Term Planning for your subject across both Key Stages in collaboration with colleagues.
* Support and advice to colleagues on lesson planning, delivery and assessment.
* Evaluation of children’s work to maintain standards.
* Maintenance of a record of children’s work which demonstrates attainment.
* Evidence of children’s developing attainment over time.
Leading and managing staff
* Monitor Teaching and Learning Standards in PE and with due regard to SEND provision.
* Develop Assessment Procedures in PE.
* Work within the Safeguarding policies of the school.
* Work within the Health and Safety policies of the school.
* Lead/ attend and participate in staff development/training opportunities .
* Act as a Student Teacher Mentor if required.
Teaching and Learning
* Carry out teaching duties in accordance with the school’s schemes of work and the New Curriculum.
* Manage resources effectively so that teaching and learning is effectively supported in across the school.
* Delegate appropriate tasks to Teaching Assistants.
* Set and monitor targets for student attainment levels.
Assessment and Evaluation of Standards
* Work within the Code of Practice relating to Special Educational Needs.
* Work within the school policies for assessing, recording and reporting on student achievement
* Monitor pupil standards and achievement against annual targets and track progress during the year.
* Provide information for Pupil Progress Meetings.
* Participate in the Appraisal systems of the school.
