Class Teacher with Core Curriculum Responsibility
Autistic pupils are different. Not just from students in mainstream education – everybody knows that – but not everybody knows just how different they are from each other.
At Medeshamstede Academy, we understand that no two students will react to one lesson in the same way. So we go the extra mile to develop curriculums that will be absorbing, enthralling and above all life-changing – and that’s where you come in.
As one of our Subject Leads, you will collaborate with our Principal and senior leadership team to transform the way we think and work. Innovation is our watchword – we want to operate at the forefront of education for autistic pupils, many of whom have cognitive and sensory difficulties.
With fewer than 120 students and classes of between six and ten, each with two teaching assistants, we’re perfectly positioned to transform the way the world approaches autism and open our students’ eyes to their own potential and the opportunities around them.
In shaping their education, we ask one simple question: where do they want to be in ten years’ time and how do we get them there? You’ll do the same for our curriculums, taking a long-term overview whilst remaining resolutely focused on the little details that really matter.
What the school offers its staff

Joining a successful multi-academy trust, you can expect comprehensive CPD and a future that could take you anywhere, including into strategic management of multiple schools. Along the way, you’ll enjoy some remarkable rewards including Perkbox and employee assistance programme.
If you’re ready to take on a new challenge, it’s time to apply.
