- Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of pupils
- Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils
- Promote good progress and outcomes by pupils
- Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge
- Participate in arrangements for preparing pupils for external tests

Summer Lane Primary School is a 1.5 form entry school that plays an integral part in the local community. There are currently 304 pupils on roll, with the admission limit of 40 pupils per year group. There are 11 classes currently: FS1 through to Year 6. At Summer Lane Primary School, we have a shared ethos where everyone is valued, supported and respected. We have developed our approach to teaching and learning to ensure high expectations leading to consistent, high-quality teaching and learning in all subjects which develops children’s skills through an exciting broad and balanced curriculum. This includes extra-curricular opportunities, educational visits and residentials to enhance the cultural capital for all pupils.
