Classroom Teaching Assistant job summary
We are recruiting for a classroom based Teaching Assistant – 18.66 hours per week from 8:55am to 12:15pm 5 mornings per week plus 1 afternoon, 1.15 to 3.15pm.
This position is for Monday to Friday, term time only and will be paid at Grade 3 (pts 4-6, £19,264-£20,043) per annum, pro rata, depending on qualifications/experience.
Working under the direction of the class teacher, SENCO and Headteacher, the successful candidate will work with children both individually and in groups and support the whole class with directed learning activities.
The ideal candidate will:
Be patient, enthusiastic and confident in their own ability to work with individuals and groups
Have an understanding of trauma based behaviour and the compassion required to work with all children irrespective of needs and background.
Have a good standard of written and spoken English, as well as good basic skills in Mathematics
Need to be creative, with a positive outlook and a ‘can-do’ attitude
