17.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 11.30am to 3.00pm

We are looking to appoint a reliable, diligent and enthusiastic individual to join our cleaning team. Along with the rest of the team, the postholder will be required to ensure that the Academy environment is a well maintained and safe environment for staff, students and visitors, which contributes significantly to the quality of learning for all students.

It is important that our students have the best learning environment and our cleaners provide a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout our school buildings to meet this need. The cleaning will have a focus on classrooms, toilets and communal areas. Experience as a cleaner is desirable but not essential.

The successful applicants must have a general knowledge of cleaning and good communication skills. Training in the use of equipment will be provided.

Role purpose

The purpose of the cleaner is to provide cleaning services to support the academy in delivering effective teaching and learning for our students.

The role includes:

Cleaning duties throughout the Academy including specialist cleaning during holiday periods such as deep cleans.

Maintaining health and safety and reporting any concerns to the manager.

Awareness of COSHH and ensuring chemicals are handled correctly.

Ensuring practice is in line with Academy policies and procedures.

  • Trustworthy, maintaining confidentiality at all times in respect of school related matters and to prevent disclosure of confidential and sensitive information
  • Ability to manage time effectively
  • Initiative and the ability to work without supervision, but as part of a team
