Cleaner job summary
We wish to appoint a Cleaner to join our dedicated cleaning team at Sidegate Primary School.
Applicants should be highly motivated, have high expectations and enjoy working in an environment that proudly puts children first. Main duties include providing a clean and safe environment in which both adults and children can work and learn in and to carry out the allocated cleaning duties within the designated times/areas as directed by the Caretaker.
Sidegate Primary School provides a professional, warm and friendly environment which strives to continuously improve standards for our children’s education.
We have a vacancy for a cleaner, Monday-Friday, 3:15pm-6:15pm,15 hours per week, 38 weeks per annum (Term time only)

Sidegate is a vibrant three-form entry primary school in the north of Ipswich. The school hosts a 25 place Specialist Education Unit for pupils with moderate learning difficulties, giving approximately 655 pupils on roll. The school boasts large grounds, an indoor swimming pool, gymnasium and good ICT provision. We pride ourselves in the broad and engaging curriculum we offer our pupils; sport and culture
feature highly and are used to enhance the curriculum in all areas. The school received a “Good” Ofsted rating in October 2022. We were the first primary school in Suffolk to be awarded the prestigious Platinum Artsmark in November 2019; we also hold quality marks in RE, Science and Sport.
Sidegate became an academy in May 2014 with The Active Learning Trust (ALT). ALT encourages each of their schools to develop a curriculum that meets the needs of the pupils in the school. They work closely with the school, providing specialist advisory support as necessary. We work closely with other schools in the ALT Ipswich Hub and the Northgate Pyramid of Schools.
