Cleaner - Stopsley Site job summary

11.25 Hours per week - Monday to Friday - Term time only

3.30pm - 5.45pm

You will have a genuine desire to ensure the cleanliness of the school site so that health and safety standards are maintained and the learning environment is enhanced. Enthusiastic and with a positive friendly approach you will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team and be reliable and trustworthy.

Under the supervision of the Site Agent the cleaning operative will be employed to assistant in the cleaning of the school helping to maintain a healthy and safe environment at all times. We can offer you a vibrant, happy school with a strong and supportive Leadership Team, and enthusiastic, knowledgeable and dedicated staff.

You will be expected to use mechanical cleaning equipment as well as the usual hand cleaning methods, cleaning a variety of ground floor areas (i.e. classrooms with hard floor and carpeted areas, toilets, medical rooms). Training will be given as required.

In addition there could be an occasional requirement to work additional hours during some school holidays which will be paid via timesheet.

Because of the nature of this job, it will be necessary for an enhanced DBS check to be undertaken. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and therefore applicants are required to declare all unspent cautions and convictions; and also any adult cautions (simple or conditional), and spent convictions that are not protected as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2020). A person’s criminal record will not in itself prevent a person from being appointed to this post. Applicants will not be refused posts because of offences which are not relevant to, and do not place them at or make them a risk in, the role for which they are applying. However in the event of the employment being taken up, any failure to disclose such offence, as detailed above, will result in dismissal or disciplinary action by the Authority.
