Cleaner job summary

The Rackham C of E Primary School are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, dedicated and highly motivated cleaner to help us maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. This role is for 10 hours per week during term time (2 hours per day).

Hours of work will ideally be 3.30pm-5.30pm - Monday to Friday (term time only) and 20 hours during the school holidays. There is some flexibility of the timing of the hours worked that can be discussed at interview.

The main duties are as follows:

Cleaning

• Carry out daily cleaning of assigned classrooms, toilets and corridors and other areas as directed , maintaining high and consistent standards (this role is to clean the Pre-School building)

• Take initiative to perform cleaning and tidying tasks that are not specifically contained within the rota but require attention as part of maintaining overall high standards.

• Report cleaning supplies requirements and stock levels to the caretaker.

• Assist with an annual deep clean of areas.

• Awareness of COSHH and use of chemicals in safe manner

Security and health and safety

• Check at the end of the day that all windows, doors and gates are locked, lights switched off, and gas and electrical appliances are turned off in the area that you are responsible for

• Advise the site officer/business manager on all matters relating to school security and safety
