Cleaner job summary
You will be required to carry out a range of cleaning duties within the school, adhering to Health and Safety procedures and regulations.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has relevant cleaning experience (Specific training for school tasks will be given

- Is self-motivated, organised and able to work on their own initiative
- Is a team-player
- Is friendly and approachable
- Can keep areas of the school clean, hygienic and safe
- Is able to work to a schedule and use their own initiative
- Is practical, flexible and able to adjust to the changing demands of the post
- Can maintain observations of security of working and report any potential security breaches to the Site Manager
The post is for 2 hours 15 minutes per day which equates to 11 hours 15 mins per week: 3.15pm - 5.30pm (Monday to Friday, 44 weeks per year). The school is open 39 weeks of the year; the other 5 weeks are to be worked in school holidays - Christmas, Easter & Summer. Hours worked during the school holidays are usually blocked together (by agreement) so the team can work together to perform a thorough deep clean of the premises.
Cleaners are responsible for cleaning the school premises and maintaining a safe and healthy environment and they may work either individually or as part of a team. Cleaners need to have good communication skills and high standards of hygiene. No formal qualifications are required and previous experience working in a school would advantageous.
A visit to school would be welcomed. We would like the successful candidate to start as soon as all the necessary pre-employment checks are complete including a DBS. References will be collected before interview.
