Job Description and Person Specification

The Trust is seeking to appoint a dedicated and proficient Clerk to Governors to cover the trust schools in the North Staffordshire region (Newcastle-Under-Lyme, Harriseahead, Knypersley). This post is initially for the North Staffordshire region covering Newcastle-under-Lyme, Harriseahead and Knypersley. This potentially could increase to cover Staffordshire, from Stone northwards. This role currently offers 60 hrs (12 meetings) per year during term time. Hours may increase based upon expansion of Trust. Meetings typically start between 5pm-6pm and are two hours long, however one is traditionally held at 8:00am. You will be required to attend meetings in person, but you may complete the remaining responsibilities remotely. There may be additional extraordinary meetings in addition to these set meetings.

This role will involve travel to schools within your allocated region across the Trust, therefore, a driving license and access to a vehicle is essential.

Provide vital administrative support to our schools across Staffordshire

Are you an enthusiastic and committed individual with great organisational and communication skills who has experience in meeting administration. clerking and minute taking? If so, and you're looking for a job with flexible, part time hours, then this could be an excellent role for you!

This is a rewarding and challenging role that will give you the opportunity to support governors across a range of schools to deliver the best outcomes for their pupils. You will provide clerk support and minute Local Governing Board meetings.

You must be able to work under your own initiative, manage deadlines and maintain accurate records. The ability to remain impartial, comply with data protection legislation and maintain confidentiality is essential. There is a requirement to travel to the school/s to which you are assigned to minute take their governance meetings. You will be led and mentored by the Governance and Onboarding Manager.
