Clerk to Governors
40 hours per year
Rate of pay will be dependent upon experience and discussion with the Chair of Governors and Headteacher
DEMAT and Thriplow CE Primary School are looking to appoint a Clerk to Governors, to its Local Governing Body, to start September 2024.
We are a small village primary school in a rural setting surrounded by the beauty of nature. Here at Thriplow, all our children enjoy a broad and balanced curriculum. During their time at Thriplow, children will secure a solid foundation in knowledge and understanding of the world and the vocabulary to describe it.

The purpose of the Clerks role is to ensure the Local Governing Board operates efficiently and effectively in line with its Terms of Reference and other related documentation. The Clerk will be accountable to the Local Governing Body, working effectively with the Chair of Governors, Headteacher and governors. The Clerk will be responsible for advising the Local Governing Body on, duties and powers and will work within the broad current legislative framework. The Clerk will secure the continuity of the Local Governing Body’s business and observe confidentiality requirements.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking Clerk to join our highly committed team of Governors.
