What skills and experience we're looking for
The Governing Body is looking to appoint a Clerk to Governors with immediate effect. Previous minute taking experience would be beneficial. Knowledge/experience of school governance would be beneficial. Training will be provided to all successful candidates. The Clerk to Governors will be accountable to the Governing Body, working effectively with the Chair of Governors, and with the Headteacher.
The duties include:
- Advising the Governing Body of procedural duties and obligations
- Preparation and circulation of agendas
- Minuting meetings
- Preparation and circulating minutes
- Recording Attendance of governors
- Other administrative duties as required
Governing Body meetings are usually held once a term (6x a year) and each meeting will be approximately 2 hours. The successful candidate will have excellent IT skills with access to email / internet, good interpersonal and communication skills, as well as good organisational skills. This is a post where confidentiality is essential.
