What skills and experience we're looking for
About you
We are looking for a dedicated Clerk to join our Trust, working across the Trust’s schools, to provide a high-quality clerking service for our schools and their Local Governing Body, to support them in providing the best education possible for their children and young people. Experience clerking in a school or academy setting is preferred, previous knowledge of school governance and the education system would be advantageous.
Job requirements
As a minimum, the role requires attendance at seven meetings annually, held face to face at one school (to be agreed) but the Clerk may be asked to work at other schools at other times, therefore you should be able to travel reliably and arrive in good time for meetings.
This role is part-time and largely structured around late afternoon and evening meetings as well as some meetings during the school day, during school term time. You will also need to liaise with Headteachers and Chairs of Governors, to coordinate agendas and governance matters.
The role could be suited to an existing clerk who has the capacity to take on another school or someone who already holds a part-time position or has a daytime role within a school setting, as many of the responsibilities can be completed flexibly outside of core school hours.
