HEARTS Band 4 - dependant on skills and experience

What skills and experience we're looking for

Cluster School Business Manager (C-SBM)

Are you looking for your next challenge? Do you relish the chance to really make a difference to the running of schools? Are you a new or experienced School Business Manager who is looking to progress your career whilst working in a team of like-minded professionals? If so, then this may be the role for you.

The successful applicant will be joining a team of experienced Cluster School Business Managers, who are currently overseeing several schools within the trust. This post will further strengthen the services provided to our schools by working collaboratively with a small number of schools; therefore, flexibility is key.

The successful applicant may be required on an ad-hoc basis to cover specific projects or staff absences. The C-SBM will be jointly line-managed by our Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Heads of School and will work closely with our existing team in driving forward all aspects of improvement in the HEARTS Trust. The role is hybrid and will be based across our central office and schools.

The successful applicant will demonstrate excellence in all aspects of school business administration and management.

The C-SBM position is a varied role which includes HR, finance (managing the budget and associated financial systems), assisting the Trust Finance Manager and Premises Lead with health and safety, site maintenance (via the site team) and working closely with the Head of School in the joint line management of various school-based staff.

We are seeking a highly ambitious professional who has the experience, motivation, enthusiasm and skill set to help lead the future vision and development of the schools and the Trust.

The successful candidate will be committed to their own lifelong learning and development and to ensuring that we are one trust where all belong.

We are highly ambitious for all of our schools, we know we set the bar high, however, we believe that our young people and the communities that we serve deserve nothing less.

Due to the location of our schools, a clean driving licence and access to a vehicle are paramount. Visits are encouraged and will provide applicants with the opportunity to meet with our existing team of Business Managers.

Please contact our COO Louise Allbury: l.allbury@heartsacademy.uk to meet the team of Business Managers and to see our schools in action.

Interview Process

After the closing date, short listing will be conducted by a panel, who will match your skills/experience against the criteria in the person specification. You will be selected for interview entirely on the contents of your application form, so please read the Job Description carefully before you complete your form.

How to apply

It is very important that the HEARTS application form is completed in full, particularly section F which refers to references. We must have the full contact details of two referees, including their name, address, telephone number and email address.

Please note that we will write to the Headteacher for all education references. Incomplete application forms will not be considered.

CVs are not accepted.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy prior to the closing date should we have enough suitable applications, therefore we advise applying early.
