What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint a reliable and enthusiastic individual, able to use their own initiative but also able to work well as part of a team. Two years’ experience working in a leisure or similar customer orientated industry and a Sports Coaching Certificate is an essential requirement for this post.

Duties will include:

  • To work in accordance with the aims and policies of the school.
  • To assist in managing the use of the facilities by all Community groups and users.
  • To carry out reception duties, greeting users and members, and answering telephone calls and e-mail enquiries.
  • To prepare induction programmes for new users of the facilities and oversee their operation.
  • To support and maintain the sports centre online booking and payments portal – Parent Pay.
  • To assist in marketing and advertising the facilities in the local area in order to maximise use and income.
  • To liaise with the Lettings clerk and community sports supervisor over the booking of facilities.
  • To train and oversee the work of voluntary coaches.
  • To carry out minor maintenance of PE equipment and report faults to the Site Manager and Community Sports Supervisor.

The person appointed to this position will need to be flexible, well organised, professional and have the ability to communicate with members of the public, staff and students at all levels. They should be numerate with excellent IT skills and the ability to adapt to new systems. Please see the Job Description and Person Specification for more details.
