What skills and experience we're looking for

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be fully committed to the academy’s vision and values.
  • Build trusted relationships with students and families to identify and overcome barriers to school attendance.
  • Coordinate support with external agencies and the school’s leadership and attendance teams.
  • Lead early intervention efforts in local primary schools to remove barriers and ease transition to STWA.
  • Deliver engaging family-focused support, including parenting workshops and outreach visits.
  • Act as a mentor and advocate, helping students stay engaged, achieve their potential, and feel supported.
  • Inspire, engage, and build positive relationships with both students and staff.
  • Exhibit a growth mindset, excellent work ethic, and a sense of humour.
  • Bring relevant knowledge and an understanding of our local and educational context.
