Computer Science Teacher, 1.0FTE, permanent job summary
Teacher of Computer Science
Required from September 2020
1.0FTE Permanent MPS/UPS
Plymouth CAST Multi-Academy Trust is seeking a creative and aspirational Computer Science Teacher within their secondary schools (Notre Dame Plymouth and St. Boniface’s Catholic College). You will be mainly based at St Boniface to deliver their GCSE, but there may also be some KS3 teaching at Notre Dame. You will be joining our Open Faculty of high-performing subject teams which consistently delivers strong outcomes for its learners and is continually looking to raise standards.
The successful candidate will be a committed and enthusiastic teacher who will embrace our ethos, work hard to help students progress and spread a passion for Computer Science. You will be able to inspire, enthuse, engage, motivate and challenge students to raise achievement at all levels within a culture of raising standards and expectations for students.
Applications from experienced and newly qualified teachers will be equally valued.
We expect successful applicants to show within their application, and at interview, their passion for working with young people and be able to explain how they will embrace and support the Trust’s ethos.
Both secondary schools are Roman Catholic, comprehensive, single-sex schools (Notre Dame – girls, St Boniface’s – boys) with a mixed sixth form at Notre Dame. We value our Catholic ethos, but you don’t need to be a Catholic to apply to work for either school. We ask that our staff support our ethos and Christian attitudes.
Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, it may not be possible to carry out on-site interviews. We will continue to follow government guidelines, but may consider skype interviews if face-to-face interviews pose a risk to safety.
Application should be submitted using the TES website by the closing date stated below.
Deadline: 9am, Tuesday 28th April 2020
Interviews: TBC, due to the Coronavirus we will proceed to interview when government guidance permits. In light of current circumstances, we may consider Skype interviews.
The school operates a Safeguarding Children Recruitment Policy and is committed to promoting the welfare of young people. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS disclosure.
Commitment to safeguarding
Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment.
Our recruitment process follows the keeping children safe in education guidance.
