What skills and experience we're looking for

1. Honours degree in relevant discipline.

2. PGCE or equivalent post-16 teaching qualification.

3. Recent successful experience of teaching A level Computer Science.

4. Enthusiasm for Computer Science and the ability to convey that enthusiasm in A level teaching.

5. Excellent classroom skills and the ability to employ a range of teaching strategies and resources which engage and support students in the promotion of high-quality learning.

6. Contribute positively to the work of the department through collaborative planning, and by sharing teaching ideas and resources.

7. Excellent communication and team working skills.

8. Evaluative approach to own teaching and willingness to try new activities.

9. Successful use of intervention strategies to improve levels of progress.

10. Skilled in using assessment data and prior learning to inform planning.

11. Good behaviour management skills.

12. Able to advise about, monitor and assess NEA work for this A level.

13. The interpersonal skills and enthusiasm required to undertake the duties of a personal tutor to post-16 age group.

14. Understanding of and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion in practice.

15. Commitment to safeguarding the interests and needs of young people.
