Aureus School is a brand new mainstream state school and provides secondary education to students aged 11 to 16 years within the Didcot area. The school opened in September 2017 and will have 600 students on roll from September 2019 including Years 7-9, with capacity for 1200 students. Our mission is simple: we will strive to educate the whole student so that each individual in our community may ‘Grow, Learn and Flourish’. We are looking to expand our team and are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Computing Lead Practitioner to join us for September 2019.
As a purpose built school, Aureus has brand new state of the art IT facilities, using Google resources & latest technologies such as Visualisers and the latest SMART TV boards in every classroom enabling teachers to bring learning to life and engage our learners. With excellent wireless coverage throughout the school, we run a Windows 10 environment, using core applications MS Office 2016 and Adobe Creative Cloud Suite. Lesson planning and delivery is done with ease using the Google Drive and all staff and students are provided with Office 365 professional accounts as a platform for collaboration, sharing and out of school access.
Once Lead Practitioner status is achieved through the SSAT accreditation, there are further development opportunities to apply for SLE status. At this level the candidate will be expected to work an agreed number of agreed days across the trust (we have 7 secondary schools in the South East) in a curriculum development role. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious existing or aspiring leader to develop the computing curriculum across the MAT and to hone key leaderships skills towards developing into a Senior Leader.
